RICHARD GINORI: TOP MANAGEMENT SUCCESSION PLAN
Sesto Fiorentino (Florence), 7 May 2019 – Richard Ginori announces that today’s meeting of the Company’s Board of Directors will mark the fully consensual and natural end of Mr. Giovanni Giunchedi’s term as the Company’s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, after reaching a series of key milestones in relaunching the brand, which are especially noteworthy in light of the difficult conditions in which the Company has operated in recent years.
Giovanni Giunchedi, who has held this position since 2016, has expressed a wish to focus on his family and personal interests after a long period of intense, gratifying work, while nonetheless pledging his full commitment in the coming months to ensuring the gradual hand-over of responsibility at the Company.
In acknowledging that this decision represents the natural conclusion of a process agreed upon with the aim of preparing for a transition capable of ensuring continuity of the Company’s management and continuing the ambitious project of relaunching and developing the Manifattura, the Kering Group would like to extend its most heartfelt thanks to Mr. Giovanni Giunchedi for his considerable contribution to the Company’s development over the course of his role, including the finalisation of the purchase procedure for the Sesto Fiorentino industrial site and the beginning of a new chapter in the Company’s history.
Mr. Mehdi Benabadji, Kering Group’s Chief Operating Officer, will be taking up managerial and administrative powers in the interim, in the role of Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Richard Ginori. This appointment is intended to ensure that Richard Ginori enjoys continuity in the process of further development of its commercial presence on the national and international markets and implementation of the strategy of repositioning the brand towards the high end of the market. In fact, in his role as Group COO, Mr. Mehdi Benabadji began to be regularly involved in decision-making relating to the plan for the further relaunch of the Company as early as September of last year, taking part in setting its goals and strategies.
